Healthy Living
There is no doubt that being healthy is a goal for most adults. Having
a small, firm waist is the key to wearing today's fashions, but not everyone
has the ideal body shape.
In the quest for good health, the overweight population has thrown millions
of dollars at the problem. The weight loss industry is huge - and understandably
so. Almost 65% of Americans are overweight or obese. Not only does this carry
a personal price tag, but it puts a strain on the US health care system to
the tune of $93 billion dollars per year - and growing.
The message is getting through about weight loss, but sadly people are taking
the wrong steps to shed those pounds. Judging by the amount of money thrown
at 'diet pills' and the ab-shaper type machines sold in infomercials, people
believe that there are quick fixes and short cuts to fat loss.

Well first off, don’t do any of this fly by nite diet regimens like Jenny Craig, weight watchers, etc… as they are expensive.. over priced and not good for the long haul!
weight loss is all about portion control, no magic formula about not eating this and eating that, its alll about balance, you can eat almost any food u want in smaller amounts..
give yourself maybe one cheat day a week where u can have some junk food, the rest of the week, eat 5 - 7 times a day, good proteins, good carbs
here is a list of foods to shop for…
1, eggs, and egg whites
2. oatmeal
3. yams
4.salmon, fish
5, chicken breast
6. salads
7. brown rice
8.nuts, assorted no sugar on them!
vitamins omega 369, and a multi vitamin
workout with weights 3- 4 a week, 40 mins a session, cardio 3 times a week 30 mins a shot…
you can’t spot-eliminate fat, so crunches will just build the muscles UNDER the fat, not get rid of it. if you can, hop on an elliptical for 30 minutes a day, or every other day, and that will help. doing ab exercises will help your abs look better, but won’t burn fat(btw, bicycle crunches are 50% more effective than regular crunches). pilates is also great for all-around fitness.
as for your diet, just eat what common sense says is healthy. try filling in your info on the food pyramid(via google). i mean…don’t get super-serious about it if you’re breastfeeding…by Weight Watchers standards, breastfeeding mothers eat 500 more calories per day than a regular dieter. and even if you’re not breastfeeding…you just had a baby. savor the times you have with your child while it’s small, and i don’t think anyone at a wedding will criticize the way you look while carrying a 7-month old.
edit: if you want to try Weight Watchers, there’s a community on Livejournal where you can get all the info for free, plus the support of an enormous community. i don’t recommend spending the $12 a week for the meetings. if you’re interested, send me a message and i’ll send you the link.
