I have abs but theres a little extra meat on top. So you can’t see them. How do I get my 6 pack to show w/o doing strenuous sit-ups?
"It is better to be rich and healthy than poor and sick." (Dave Barry)
There is no doubt that being healthy is a goal for most adults. Having a small, firm waist is the key to wearing today's fashions, but not everyone has the ideal body shape.
In the quest for good health, the overweight population has thrown millions of dollars at the problem. The weight loss industry is huge - and understandably so. Almost 65% of Americans are overweight or obese. Not only does this carry a personal price tag, but it puts a strain on the US health care system to the tune of $93 billion dollars per year - and growing.
The message is getting through about weight loss, but sadly people are taking the wrong steps to shed those pounds. Judging by the amount of money thrown at 'diet pills' and the ab-shaper type machines sold in infomercials, people believe that there are quick fixes and short cuts to fat loss.

You’re in luck. They key to abs is not a ton of sit ups, but a ton of cardiovascular.
To show off your abs, you need to burn off the layer of fat that is covering them. To do this you need to go on a calorie restricted diet and do a lot of exercise including cardio and sit ups. The layer of fat will not go away by simply doing sit ups and crunches. If you already have a low body fat percentage than doing situps and crunches will help you. Don’t go crazy with them. A lot of people go to the gym and fo hundreds of situps and crunches every day. They treat their abs differently from every other muscle in the body. Treat them the same as you would any other muscle and you will see improvements.
Guide to Getting Abs -
To show your abs, you’ll need to trim the fat on top with cardio. Do cardio exercises at least 5 times a week such as
1. Walk 1 hour
2. Bicycling
3. Jogging
4. Skating
5. Basketball
6. Tennis
In addition, you’ll need to work your entire core. For the lower abs, do 3 sets 20 of front leg raises. For the middle and upper abs and for overall core strength, do kickboxing 3 times per week.
70% of your physique comes from your diet. You have to burn more calories than you take in to acheive the look you’re going for. Eat small meals 6 times a day and taper off your carbs from morning to night so your body has a chance to burn them off before you go to bed. High protein and fiber to keep you feeling full in addition to drinking a lot of water - throw in some cardio from time time and you’ll get there. It won’t happen overnight, but you’ll get there… Good luck!
