How do I get flat abs?

flat abs
Brad M asked:

I am trying to get flat abs. I get two hours of exercise at football everyday and then later at home I do extra ab exercises such as bicycle crunches and situps. Also I hardly eat any fat and watch everything I eat but still no results. What should I do?

  1. Well… cardio is your friend. You can build up as much muscle as you want, but what you truly need to do is remove the layer of fat over it. Even if you watch fat are you watching your carbs? Sodium? these are things that your body stores and can make you look bulkier than you really are. :) just a thought.

  2. The problem is probably the number of exercises you do. You should do at least 50 bicycle crunches a day. Also, try kickboxing 2 or 3 times a week for an hour. This will jump start your abs.

  3. time to time flex your muscle so ittl get hard for a few minutes. You can do this anytime u want too, like when ur siitting down, conversation to som1 and so on

  4. You should visit a website called projekt transform. Projekt transform is a body transformation social network. You can create your own personal blog, post tips, advice, get help, post your progress etc. You can post before and after pictures as well. The site is completely free and it is just getting started too. So sign up and start telling the world about your diet, how you exercise, and your goals…and see what they say.

  5. You say you don’t eat hardly any fat but what about carbs? I mean lets break down your daily dietary intake here - are you eating less than your maintenance level?

In order to lose fat from your abs you need to be eating 15-20% less than your BMR (basal metabolic rate) - that doesn’t just mean eating hardly any fat, it means watching all your calories!

Aim for a nice balanced diet with plenty of protein and vegetables - if your body doesn’t tolerate carbs so well (which is probably the case here), cut them back and eat complex carbs only after training.

You sound like you do a lot of exercise, but remember you need to rest also - your body needs time to recover so it can burn fat more efficiently. I would begin with a weights program also - more muscle means a rise in your BMR!

You should check out this link -

that is the program I used to go for a one pack to a prized six pack of abs.

Also check out my two sites below which are 100% free and should give you some training and nutrition ideas.

    Good luck with it!

Healthy Living

There is no doubt that being healthy is a goal for most adults. Having a small, firm waist is the key to wearing today's fashions, but not everyone has the ideal body shape.

In the quest for good health, the overweight population has thrown millions of dollars at the problem. The weight loss industry is huge - and understandably so. Almost 65% of Americans are overweight or obese. Not only does this carry a personal price tag, but it puts a strain on the US health care system to the tune of $93 billion dollars per year - and growing.

The message is getting through about weight loss, but sadly people are taking the wrong steps to shed those pounds. Judging by the amount of money thrown at 'diet pills' and the ab-shaper type machines sold in infomercials, people believe that there are quick fixes and short cuts to fat loss.
