How do girls get their tummy flat + get subtle abs?

flat abs
Chrissy S asked:

I’m 14 and just got my period a little while ago. Isn’t your bod supposed to shape after that? How do you get your stomach flat with abs, but not too much. Also, I did not get my growth spurt yet. Something wrong?

  1. Plenty of sit-ups (the kind where your legs are resting on a chair so that you’re using only your stomach muscles without your thighs helping.) Pilates also and finally cardio or some other exercise because you can’t tone up by zone exercising alone.

  2. What do you mean about “shape”? Around puberty, you should grow hips and ******* and look “womanly”. Gaining weight is common, although it mostly goes to ******* and hips and bottom. In terms of getting a flat stomach, it’s partly genetic because some people’s naturally sticks out anyway even if they’re skinny, and others are just lucky because theirs look flat. You need to have a very low fat content and be pretty skinny. As for strong muscles and subtle abs, that is very difficult for girls to get, but plenty of sit-ups and other ab exercises like leg lifts should work after a while. I’m sure you’ll get a growth spurt at some point, depending when your parents got theirs and how tall they are.

Healthy Living

There is no doubt that being healthy is a goal for most adults. Having a small, firm waist is the key to wearing today's fashions, but not everyone has the ideal body shape.

In the quest for good health, the overweight population has thrown millions of dollars at the problem. The weight loss industry is huge - and understandably so. Almost 65% of Americans are overweight or obese. Not only does this carry a personal price tag, but it puts a strain on the US health care system to the tune of $93 billion dollars per year - and growing.

The message is getting through about weight loss, but sadly people are taking the wrong steps to shed those pounds. Judging by the amount of money thrown at 'diet pills' and the ab-shaper type machines sold in infomercials, people believe that there are quick fixes and short cuts to fat loss.
