Healthy Living
There is no doubt that being healthy is a goal for most adults. Having
a small, firm waist is the key to wearing today's fashions, but not everyone
has the ideal body shape.
In the quest for good health, the overweight population has thrown millions
of dollars at the problem. The weight loss industry is huge - and understandably
so. Almost 65% of Americans are overweight or obese. Not only does this carry
a personal price tag, but it puts a strain on the US health care system to
the tune of $93 billion dollars per year - and growing.
The message is getting through about weight loss, but sadly people are taking
the wrong steps to shed those pounds. Judging by the amount of money thrown
at 'diet pills' and the ab-shaper type machines sold in infomercials, people
believe that there are quick fixes and short cuts to fat loss.

Start off with basic sit-ups, do a ton of them until you feel as if you cant do anymore… Take a 2 minute rest, do that again and repeat over and over again… If you’re strong enough, try crunches.. 1. You lie down flat on the floor
2. Lift your legs and bend them
3.Put your arms beside your ears
4. Bring your upper body toward your legs (do not move your legs)

crunches r great for good looking abbs going to the gym every other day helps walking takes to long in my book i got pretty buff at the gym
V-sits are awesome for abs (laying flat on the floor on your back, with arms extended above your head flat on the floor-slowly raise your toes and fingers to touch above your stomach. Essentially trying to make a v shape with your body- i’m sure an online search can elicit a much better explanation and even diagrams!) These kill but they are AWESOME for abs. Also I have this great abs video which is actually really fun to do. It’s called Abs Yoga for Beginners by Rodney Yee. You can buy it on amazon for like 10 bucks or something. But it is great for beginners, fun to do, and really works your abs out (until you get really toned). Good luck!
For exercise: try 30-45 minutes of cardio and then do strengthening exercises for 30 min at least 5 times a week. I suggest a Swiss ball to do ab workouts and other exercises. It works many groups of muscles at the same time and helps to improve balance. And believe it or not, fast walking is really good cardio (if you **** running like I do…). You need to do cardio for at least 30 min to start shedding the fat, but 30 min is still good for your heart and burning cals). Just keep your heart rate up!!!
Good luck!
For Diet: try a balanced diet keeping calories at about 1500. Eat a LOT of veggies! Fruit is good because of the fiber and vitamin but it is made of fructose (a sugar more readily made into fat). Try whole-wheat carbs (each serving must have 3g of fiber or more), lean meat (only 4 oz a day cause any more turns into fat in girls), and lean dairy products (Dannon Light n’ fit yogurt is really good).
